The green beans planted on Sept. 1 are up and about 2" tall! The cucumbers planted last Friday (the 5th) are breaking through the soil! The Celebrity tomatoes are blossoming again, and the cherry tomatoes I cut back are putting out new growth.
This fall garden thing just might work ;) .

It sounds as though your fall garden is going to be something to be proud of Jane. Do keep us informed on how all your plants make out won't you?

Barb, I'll wait until the cucumbers look more like plants and less like tiny green bumps, then post pictures.
Here are the pictures of my four rows of green beans and one row of cucumbers. The cucumbers are planted too close, but every other one is going to a friend's garden as transplants.

Sjoerd, everything in the fall garden is planted outdoors--I don't have a greenhouse nor a hoop house. However, I am blessed with a 10 to 11 month growing season, depending on what we want to plant.

Way to go, MG. Will your fall garden be out of doors? That zone that you live in must really be a good one for growing this late in the year. I am so limited as to what will work throughout the winter here. I am quite thrilled for you and like Waretrop, I hope that you will post some progress pics.

    This is a nifty project.
