I found this in the backyard .... growing among the lily of the Valleys. Seems like someone tossed it there. I picked it up and put it in a pot. Any idea what this plant could be?

    Thanks!

Jen it does look a lot like a foxglove to me too. I wonder what colour the flowers will be? Do keep us up to date on how it grows for you Tina.

Thank you all! Now, that I think back, I do think it is a foxglove too. Do you think it will do well in the container itself or shall I plant it in the ground? The are it is in now, doesnt get a lot of sun. Shall I move it?
    Thanks again!

The foxglove are biennials and will be blooming soon. I would let it be in the pot and put it where you can enjoy it. You may keep them blooming longer by cutting spent bloom stalks (smaller bloom stalks will continue). Once seeds pods are formed scatter the seeds where you would like them to grow. They self-sow freely in my yard. They tend to like disturbed areas. You can see them along roadsides in the area.

I have some in the shade and love it. You may be right. But the ones in the sun do just fine and seem to have more seedlings around...
