I woke up at 3 am sat, with a tooth ache! My regular dentist dosn't have any Sat hour. The pain kept getting worse and I finally found a dentist that would see me at about 1 pm. He said either a root canal or and extraction. We wanted me to go to a specialist for the root canal. But that's al,ost 50 miles away. Anyhow we can't get anything done til Tues because of my blood thinner I take. I haven't taken any since Friday for that reason. I am going to try to get into my dentist tomorrow and then get it pulled on Tues. The tooth isn't worth saving, 1/2 of it is filling.
Sorry to hear you can't get pain relief right away....I know what you are going through with the blood thinners, my DH is on them and has to go off of them before procedures..Will a warm compress help on the side of your face? or maybe a heating pad? I hope you can get some relief before Tuesday. Good Luck...
OH poor you CK, I really feel for you, there is nothing worse than tooth ache. I do hope you get it fixed very soon.
Let's hope the extraction goes well and that you have no after effects. Toothache is a rotten thing to have but I'm glad to hear that the painkillers and antibiotics are keeping it mostly at bay.
Why do these things happen on a weekend and/or when your dentist/doctor is not on call? Yeah that sucks alright. Glad you are on antibiotics...otherwise they wouldn't be able to pull it! Good luck Capt.
There is nothing worse than toothache especially when you know you have to wait for treatment. have you tried small bit of cottonwool soaked in clove oil and put on the tooth, it may help. Hope you get it sorted soon
I know all too well the agony a bad tooth can cause Capt. I hope your dentist can see you quickly and ease your pain.
Went to my dentist this morning and the tooth will come out Tues. afternoon. He said the nerve canal is so calcified that he dosn't think that he can do a root canal, and would end up having to pull it anyhow. So tomorrow it should be hurting a lot less. Actually it dosn't feel bad now, but that's from the pain pills I have been taking.
Yes, good luck with all this tomorrow!! You should be able to finally get some rest and relax rather than fight the pain. Pain is a great way to wipe you out from doing almost nothing!
The tooth is gone! They said I had a lot of infection up in that tooth and the gum. He did damage the filling a little in the tooth next to it, so I will have to have that repaired. But it does feel a little better. Just sore from the extraction.
