Do you use tomato cages for you tomato plants? Do you use tomato cages to support plants other than tomato plants?

I do not use cages anymore as the size is too often wrong for the chosen plant. I use cattle panel, so strength is a non issue, and I can form the panels as needed for the purpose, and they last far longer than the skinny wire of cages.

Bamboo stakes and loosely tie the stalk to it with zip ties.

Shhhh, don't tell. A friend that I gets a lot of our garden vegetables can't garden now, but has in the past. I was given about 20 tomato cages he had used in his garden. I don't use cages--we have T bars with sturdy wire between them. Our tomato plants would eat the wire cages and spit out nails!
This is where I am swearing y'all to secrecy. I donated (unloaded, dumped, etc.) the cages at a local community garden. Those poor dears were happy to get them. I may have to avoid that community garden for a couple of years.

I have stacks myself. I need to buy some wire solder to fix half of them!
