    Did someone say 'tropical foliage'?
I would be very happy about that...that is my favorite type of plant and garden. The variety of coloured foliage plants is amazing and quite spectacular.
I grow those plants rather than flowers, they give colour all year and not much trouble either, just a prune now and then.

Gorgeous plants! I didn't realize Cordylines bloomed. I think mine has been getting a little too much sun... time to provide it more shade so that I may get some awesome blooms like yours!

    Chocolate,
Will any of these plants survive the winter, or do you take them all inside?

Gee Donna, How did you get three post's in a row?

Chocolate, I love that cordyline! I don't keep houseplants or much in the greenhouse over the winter as they tend to host insects and disease and I can't have that in the spring when I am starting seeds, I usually don't want anything that takes yearround "babysitting", but that I would love to have.

    Thanks everyone,
Cherylad, the cordies are in full sun and flower on and off through the year. The ones that are in the shade dont flower readily. The colours always come out better in the shade.
Donna, because I live in a subtropical climate all of my plants stay in the ground all year.
I also have anthuriums, they are on the floor of the shadehouse and flower most of the year...growing in the ground.
I think some of the leaves are as attractive as the flowers. The leaves last for weeks in a vase and look brand new for ages.

I can barely keep an Anthurium alive here indoors (then again, I don't do too well with houseplants).

    Great plants!
I love that blue ginger. Is it Brazilian of origin? Or that's another plant?
    Anyway, it's cute!

Thankyou Calin, yes the 'blue ginger' is a native of Brasil, not a true ginger , used extensively here for landscaping and I have even seen it in a pot.It is a tuber like ordinary ginger.

What an array of super plants you have there, Chocolate. That Cordyline looks supurb. Therer is a lot to say for making a generous use of colourful foliage. Well done, you.

Thanks Sjoerd...coloured foliage is my favorite thing right now.
Today I did some smash and grab in the garden[sort of weeding] and thought some would like to see more cordylines. They are particularly good now because the warmer weather is starting to encourage lovely new growth.

This is an awesome set of pics. Now, How many poisonous "things" do you need to watch out for as you are weeding and cleaning up your garden?
