Turkey Crossing

    We now know when fall has arrived when we see the turkeys crossing our yard. Here are a few pict for you to enjoy.

    Well done for getting such fantastic shots Petunia. :-D I just hope they stay away as much as possible from roads so that they don't get run over.

    I love the sound wild turkeys make. Our son had some in his area when he lived in the countryside in New York. They don't frequent the city. We used to see them in Colorado when we were riding the train various places. dooley

    Oh what a lovely family.I wish we had them here,The two peacocks has finally made their home at jubabe's sisters house right behind me.They have horses and they started feeding them and they decided to stay and make it home.

    There are a lot of wild turkeys in our area. Once in awhile we will see a lot of them fedding in a field, particularly since they have picked the corn. Wannabe

    Petunia those are lovely pics of the mother and her young ones! We used to hear wild turkeys out in the woods behind my dad's house but I haven't heard them in the past couple of years. Guess some hunter got them.:(
    Glendann the peacock ladies were down at my house the other day. They were making every step my guinea chickens were! When it was getting close to roosting time they headed back up the hill toward Tina's.I got to enjoy them for the day at least!:)

    You are so making me wish to see more of the US! We get quail and pheasants here, but I never knew turkeys could actually be cute!
