Unusual-looking Caterpillar ID needed

    Spotted these guys on the little Mandarin tree.
    At first glance I thought it was bird-poop!
    Anybody know what they are?

    Is it the catterpiller for the giant swallowtail butterfly (Papilio cresphontes)?

    I did see a couple of these last year. Thanks!
    Hmmm.... the Swallowtail and Giant Swallowtail are so different.

    Thanks all. And it's funny... on the link that Toni gave me, one tidbit of info said that they look like bird poop! So, it wasn't just me! :D

    I'm guessing that was intentional also to deter predators. It really is amazing! Thanks for posting Cheryl.
