See? Anyone familiar with this? ( photo / image / picture from Cayuga Morning's Garden )

The shrub looks healthy otherwise. I don't see any bugs one it. Any ideas?

A guess would be dogwood anthracnose. Caused by the fungus Discula destructiva. There may be an anti fungal for it but more googling is needed to identify the agent.

Thanks Jerry. I think you are right, that it is dogwood anthracnose. Major bummer. This means it will be a continuing maintenance problem to try to control the spread of the disease. I'll do my best, it is a pretty little shrub after all, but I may have to just eliminate it. :'(
