See? Anyone familiar with this? ( photo / image / picture from Cayuga Morning's Garden ) The shrub looks healthy otherwise. I don't see any bugs one it. Any ideas?
A guess would be dogwood anthracnose. Caused by the fungus Discula destructiva. There may be an anti fungal for it but more googling is needed to identify the agent. Jerry
Thanks Jerry. I think you are right, that it is dogwood anthracnose. Major bummer. This means it will be a continuing maintenance problem to try to control the spread of the disease. I'll do my best, it is a pretty little shrub after all, but I may have to just eliminate it. :'(
