I have these strange daisy plants on long stalks growing infront of the pampas. I'm thinking they have been there a while but not in mass quantity. I think I mowed them over before I ever let them get big to see the flowers thinking they were weeds.

Not sure if this is a intentional planting of a wildflower by the previous owner or a weed that found its home?

I do like them though. :)

Looks like a Daisy Fleabane... Erigeron strigosus it is a wildflower that is native to North Carolina.

I dug up a small juvenile one of these and am gonna see if I can grow out in a pot for fun. I will them try to see if I can get seeds from the ones in the ground already when they get old and then try to spread them into new wildflower places in the yard.
