hello , i m new on this site, i want to jazz up the walls of my bedroom and perhaps find an accent for a part of my kitchen wall...i was thinking about using wall decals, but i have a few questions:
    are they easy to install?
are they removable without making a mess?
can i stick them to any flat surface?
also, there seems to be so many decal sites out there, any recommendations?
    in advance thank you

    Welcome to GardenStew from Scotland.

Wall stickers (wall decals) are a great alternative to wallpaper. They are made of vinyl and are removable and extremely easy to apply. Pick a company that has the type of designs that are to your personal taste. I don't know, however, if they can be applied to any flat surface. Maybe you could e.mail or telephone one of the companies that supply them and ask before ordering.

My boss used some in our office... I was skeptical at first... but they look really cool.

I bought this one off of ebay a few weeks ago. I couldn't reach that high so my husband had to stand on the bed and put it up for me :-o

Our walls are kind of textured, he said it would work much better on something with less texture or no texture at all. It wanted to stick to the paper but with patience he was able to get it off and make it work! The directions said it can be removed with a blow dryer!! I would say "Heck yeah! Give it a try!" :p
