It is Springtime here (just barely)...and some of the birds here are beginning to pair and build nests. The Bird Protection Organization here has set up cameras at the nesting places of several bird sorts.

    http://www.beleefdelente.nl/

The language of the website is Dutch, but if you go to this link you can klik on the pictures of the bird that you want to watch (or on the Dutch name buttons). There is sound.

p.s.The Barn Swallow and Blue Heron do not yet have an active cam running.
Also--if you want to see short film clips of what has been captured by the camera operators you can see them by choosing from the list over to the right under the heading, Iets gemist? Kijk hier "(this means, "Missed something? Look here").

Also over to the right of the camera screen you can see, "CAM 1" or "CAM 2" --if you klik on these you can see other live cameras which are trained on the same birds--sometimes inside the nest boxes and /or outside.
Good luck and happy birdwatching in Nederland!---24/7

Sjoerd I couldn't find a link in your post to the website. Is this the one by any chance?

I've saved it to my favourites and will be popping in now and again to see what's going on at each nest site. :stew1:

WOW, a fantastic web site Sjoerd. Thank you, I have bookmarked it and will visit it often. Almost as often as I visit the Stew. :)

In fact I'm going back there right now, excuse me. :sete_031:

I found a website to translate Dutch to English so I have a better understanding of the explanations.

    Way to go, JERRY!
I wish that they would make a parallel website in English, because I am sure that folks from other parts who stumble upon it by accident might want to know what they were looking at.

I'm so glad that you like the website, FRANK.
As long as the website stays active, I leave the compi running and on this site and check in from time to time to see what is going on.
I do like it that there is an editor that saves and makes little video clips of interesting happenings that I can see.
I hope that there will be lots of interesting moments this year.

I liked the highlight clips also Sjoerd. Have you witnessed the storks doing their synchronised beak clattering?

Yes, FRANK I did see them performing that display...just day before yesterday. I like those birds.

Thanks so much, BUNKIE. I hope you enjoy it for the weeks to come (if you have time, that is). ;)

Very enjoyable. Of course, it is night there now... so the owl and the storks were sleeping!

Thanks for the reminder. I still have it bookmarked from last year. The poor storks were having a tough time balancing in the wind.

Glad that you liked the link, DAISY-- I hope that you will watch during the daytime now and then.

Cheers, GAIL-- It is nice that you kept the link from last year. Hopefully it will be enjoyable for you this year as well. It's early days yet, but there is still things going on and you can see them in the little video clip highlights over to the right.
