Went to buy a few seeds and several local people said they were already planting. So I came home and planted carrots, spinach, radishes and lettuce. It felt so good to play in the dirt.
I love feed stores! You get all the local news, advice on planting, and sometimes, even feed! We have lettuce and broccoli that we are harvesting now, and onions just went in. My husband picked up 10 lbs. of seed potatoes today, so we'll be planting them in a week or so. Yes, playing in the dirt is so much fun!
I won't be planting anything anytime soon either. It snowed last night and the ground is frozen solid. I usually start seeds in March.
I'm right there with you Netty I did order seeds from Remy's and can't wait to start some coleus seeds. I'm thinking I might start a little terrarium (indoors of course)
Last year I had a problem planting too early. This year I plan on planting the veggies later in the season. Self watering garden ( photo / image / picture from Jerry Sullivan's Garden ) Jerry
I do want to start weed thing in house. Not many-hard to keep Maddie Mae playing with dirt.We are like Jerry. Put things out too soon -inpast. Made tents out of clear shower curtains and wall-a waters
plants It is SO HARD to not plant something right now. I'm in 6bTN so can't start just yet but counting the days. Today is Jan 22 so that leaves me...uh 9 more days in Jan and I can rationalize planting something slow-starting like peppers around Feb 1. Tomatoes SHOULD wait till the middle of Feb at least. Maybe some of those free flower seeds or some herb seed might get started on the 1st. I can feel spring headed this way! :-D
Going to be in the mid 60's tomorrow. I know spring fever will get me. Going to have to plant something. Think I'll back to the Feed & Seed store in the morning. I'm sure they will hep me find something to plant.
I will not be able to plant anything until I get back to Texas.I feel the need to play in dirt.I was to ill last year to do anything and I really missed it.
