No not a grandchild but a rescue dog. :D
He's a black Lab cross and we're picking him up from the Dog's Trust at 11am on Sunday!!
We've just been out and bought everything he'll need to feel at home including, amongst others, a squeaky hot dog, ball and some treats.
He's approx. 5 years old and is house trained and already knows some commands although we'll be teaching some more.
He's called Tyson at the moment but we're altering it to Merlin which I like much better.
I'll be boring you all with photographs in the near future I'm sure.
I just can't wait to have him here with us!! :smt026

Oh, that lucky dog, and lucky you! I can hardly wait to see photos of that sweet puppy (I know he is 5 years old, but Labs are always puppies to some extent).
Are you sure you don't want to change his name to "Marlin?" I'd be honored . . . .

Jane so sorry but I never thought of Marlin. We decided on Merlin as it's close to Tyson (pronounced Tysin over here) and, hopefully, easier for him to get used to. You could always become his long distance God mother though. :-D

Congratulations on your new family member, I can understand that you would want to change his name.....after all, he is not a boxer dog, is he? ;)
