what is this? any ideas.

    A friend sent me these pics to identify... I have no idea what they really are. She called them the "Sacred lily of India". I have never seen them. said she pulls them in the Fall and keeps them in the basement. then they flower while dormant.... I have never seen or heard of this. I was at her house in Sept and saw them and asked about them. if I recall she said the flower was red, but I am not sure. these are about 3' tall in this picture.

    No image, but The Sacred Lily of India is Amorphophallus rivieri.

    Voodoo Lily =Amorphophallus species or Sauromatum venosum with lots of other names too.
