Sherry if you double click on My Computer and look along the left-hand side (the folder pane) you should see the Recycle Bin listed. Click and drag it onto the Desktop and this will create a shortcut for you.

    Frank,
I looked through everything on the left side but nothing that said recycle bin or the small picture of it. Anything else I can try? One thing I do know I haven't had it for years...never had to find it before. On my computer it has two areas that say MY COMPUTER..is it safe to delete one of them? I have no idea how I got two of the same thing...thank you..Sherry

    How about a search Sherry?
Push the start button and then click on search on the right side.

Sherry, never delete anything without knowing exactly what it is and whether you need it or not. More computers have been rendered useless by someone deleting the wrong things.

Randy sent me these instructions, maybe they will help out.

Right-click an empty area of your desktop
    Select Properties
    Click the Desktop tab
    Click the Customize button
    Click Restore Default
Exit all windows and restart your computer

    Hi Sherry...
You could try deleting something and see if it re- appears.
Make a note of what you delete. If the recycle bin does not re-appear...then search for the item that you just deleted with the Windows search tool to see where it was placed.

Once you find the re-cycle bin , you can right-klik on it wherever it is and you will get the choice to make a quick link icon on the Desktop.

Sherry, glad it worked for you.
I hate deleting anything, you never know when you might need it again....sort of like the pack-rat syndrome my family suffers from ;)
