Yesterday I cleaned out the Worm Farm which I started about 3 months ago in preparation for our Life Time Adventure.

    The result:

Started with about 20 worms and counted almost 80 worms and lots of tiny ones.
All the dried leaves were consumed.
The newspaper underneath were all eaten up but almost 50% of those on top were still around. This could be because the uppermost layer of the newspaper dried up quite fast in the hot weather here.
The weekly addition of apple peel and veggie leaves were eaten quite fast.
Card box pieces were also no more to be seen.
Amount of vermicompost produced - about 1~2 kilos ... I think. Maybe less?

    Conclusion.
Quality of vermicompost is now under evaluation.
Will continue with this after return from Life Time Adventure.

    Remarks.
Photos were taken but the memory card was stuck in the card reader. I think I'll have to kick myself in the butt for putting the card in the reader upside down. It got stuck and when I managed to retrieve it, it was in 3 pieces. Sorry!

Many thanks to Donna for all her guidance and support.

It's a pity you lost the photos KK. Keep us updated on the vermicompost quality, I bet it's good!
