Yellow trumpets with red flecks

    These are so nice ive bought a book to ID my flowers but i cant find this one in it im sure its a lily but which one :-?

    It's an Alstroemeria, Poppy. They're pretty flowers but can be rather invasive in the borders.

    I agree with Alstroemeria Poppy. I'd love to be able to grow those here :)

    No, Netty, you wouldn't! I wanted one, managed to find a hardy one, and now I've struggled for four years trying to get rid of it. It's nearly taking over my small rose patch, and the roots are a long way down and thicker than my fingers. It's actually worse than ground elder and lily-of-the-valley.
