The morning breakfast routine was in full swing, the coffee was brewing, a bird was sleeping on the suet feeder, and the eggs were doing their usual thing while exposed to heat in the frying pan…….Toast should be in there somewhere…….BIRD???….. SLEEPING?? Not part of the breakfast regimen. Most unusual for a Blue Jay to choose the suet feeder for it’s night roost. Take pictures!! As I grabbed the camera I wondered if perhaps the bird was sick. Turn burner off. Hmmmmm?? The bird has it’s head tucked under it’s wing. CLICK, This is the first time this has happened. CLICK, Then the bird woke up. CLICK, Looked around, CLICK, took two bites of suet and launched himself into the chilled morning air. I wondered, as I turned the heat on for the eggs, if I should build a bird roost as an experiment. What would I see on a chilly winter morning?

Probably overstuffed himself with suet and just had to have a nap to sleep it off. :chuckle: Looks like a youngster Jerry. I've had smaller birds sitting asleep in the squirrel proof feeders now and then and wondered if there was something wrong until they woke up and flew away. :)

;) KK, I suppose a bird might enjoy being pampered.
Personally, I never enjoyed eating propped up in bed.
