Ladyfingers (or okra), tomatoes and eggplants. All are tasty, the second one is particularly fun to grow for the texture changes everyday and home grown vegs come second to none!

Eggplants. I don't know why but my late father influenced me to eat it. He cooked a fried eggplant using egg as a batter. Tastes good with banana catsup!

Tomatoes are my choice...Here in Greece i manage to have them grown in open field till this time of the year (and i am just using my own seeds...making them late variety by just collecting them later and later in the winter) and keep going for the smallest varieties...taste great, can be stored in dried form, made into marmalade/sweets and sauce. A win all around if you happen to live in a warm/dry mostly climate with mild winters...The need a lot of work and care to make them produce right but it pays off!

Tomatoes are my favorites as well. You can use them in a lot of different dishes and home grown tomatoes just taste much better than the ones you buy at the supermarket.

    Favorite Vegetable

My family's favorite vegetable is sugar snap peas. They love to "sneak" into the garden and eat them right off the vine. 8)

There are two that vie for first place in my garden. If I had to grow only one I would have a dilemma! That would be nice fat tomatoes or green beans. You can't beat a fresh off the vine sliced tomato sandwich with mayo! On the other hand, I love sauteed green beans with a touch of olive oil and garlic. I'm glad I don't have to chose!

I love growing kale. There is nothing like walking outside on Christmas day (in Toronto) and picking some kale from the garden to eat. I've never grown anything else which keeps producing for so long.

I don't really know why but corn has always been my fave. May have started when I ate it all the time as a kid but who knows, anyways, it rocks!!
