soft green fuzzy leaves.

    Can someone tell me what this plant is? My mother-in-law gave me a bunch of seeds last year and I planted them. This came up last year but was very small. This year it is a bit bigger. The leaves are soft and fuzzy. It hasn't bloomed yet. Any info would be appreciated.

    Looks like Foxglove, Digitalis purpurea .

    I agree with Netty that's a cultivar of Rudbeckia hirta. I found this photo that shows the reddish stems on this cultivar:

    Here's the foliage from a Digitalis (foxglove) and the leaves are a bit stiffer looking:
