I walk past a house during my lunch break, and they have some ground cover plants I would like to try in my yard around some of my larger perennials. They told me it might be phlox, but I don't think so (though I have very little knowledge of gardening and plants.) The phlox I've seen all have needle-like leaves and 5-lobed blooms. These have elliptical leaves and 4-lobed blooms. They are 6"-8" high and the blooms are about 3/4" across. Location is zone 4 in N. Utah (near Idaho state line. Can someone give me an ID for this plant?

    I agree it's Rockcress - Aubrieta Deltoidea - a very pretty little plant. :-D

    Eileen & Netty,
Thanks for your replies. :-D I agree: it is a very attractive ground cover. After some internet investigating, I've found that it is not recommended for zone 4, though this one seems to be doing OK. I'll look for the variety posted by Eileen at the local nursery. It has to be mighty hardy to survive me, LOL
