Those pesky little buggers, they are digging up my flower beds in search of my earthworms. I worked hard to make a nice home for those worms. Last night they broke one of my DAYLILIES, can you believe it a daylily. It is all out war now, but I can't bring myself to kill them, no matter how mean and ugly they are. Anyone have suggestions as to how to keep them out of my flowers? Sharon
Do you have any friends that like to eat armadillos? You might be able to arrange a mutually beneficial agreement If you want to keep them alive, you might want to trap them and transport them elsewhere. If that will cost too much, consider building a fence or other types of barriers to physically keep them out.
No, I don't think I know anyone who eats them. We will try to trap him and relocate the little bugger, I hate killing them.
In the mean time try throwing out Moth Balls around your fence and flowerbeds .I have heard they will keep out snakes and Armadillos .I'm not sure it works but if you don't put them in the beds it should not hurt them.
You shoulda made meatballs Pinkiered Armadillo Meat Balls ~ 1 lb cooked armadillo meat, ground ~ 1 egg ~ 2 tbsp minced celery ~ 2 tbsp minced onion ~ 1 tbsp minced parsley ~ 1 tsp salt ~ 1/2 tsp pepper ~ flour ~ oil In a bowl, mix together the meat, egg, celery, onion, parsley, salt and pepper. Form into 1 inch balls and refrigerate for 1 hour. In a skillet, heat 3/4 inch of oil. Roll the meat balls in the flour. Fry the meat balls until brown. Serve and Enjoy! http://www.backwoodsbound.com/zarmadilo2.html
Armadillos sleep in the middle of the road with all four feet in the air. Bring them to Texas put them in the road.
Plant a garden on the other side of the road. Make sure there are lot's of worms over there too. He will never make it to them! We saw lots of them along the roads in Georgia. The crows love them!
I think that was a joke Bethie, we are Cajuns and the famous saying is we eat anything that doesn't eat us first. No one that I know has ever eaten armadillo. I don't think the trap will work here though, too many cats, and that what I would end up trapping. Hate to say it but DH just might have to shoot it.
