We went to our favorite thrift store on Friday and picked up a few items. I just thought the cow was too cute to pass up.
Last night I kept thinking about two items I had seen there but didn't follow my first instinct and add to the cart. So today we headed back up there hoping to find them still there...and they were.
The bench is 'people' size but I have another idea for it.
The doll bed is homemade and is going to look really cute as a planter.
These two pieces were not there yesterday but I was lucky enough to find them today.
The brass hanging planter will look great hanging on the back wall with purple petunias in it.
And this planter will also be hanging on the back wall with something planted but not sure what yet.

Great finds toni.I love them all but I do love the bench can't wait to see what you have in store for it.

I love the cow!!!!  I know someone who would adore that in their garden. I aso like the decorated rock, the watering can - oh everything really. Can't wait to hear what you have in mind for the bench Toni.

Bpoy Toni,
You sure lucked-out. There are a number of verrrry interesting-looking things there, but the one that caught my eye was that bench with the hearts in it. It would be perfect for rosemåling or hindeloopen -type painting. In fact it's perfect for it.
...as for the cowwwwwwwwwwwwwwww..... well, it does look like a Friesian. hahahaha...it is unusual. It makes me laugh.

I like the doll's bed, but my favourite is the cow! I'm looking forward to seeing what you'll do with everything.

You did so good Toni,, I guess i'm odd, i liked the last pic the best. that would look great with some free hand painting on the back boards an plants with some ivy of somekind. Also the watering can, that would look great tucked away in some over grown herbs with its own plant growing in it...
Great finds!!!
Can i ask, have you ever done anything with old windows. I have about 20 of them, an got a good site from a fellow Stewer, but would love to see things made by anybody in the forum.

Glad you all like my new junque, I am having a good time planning on where it will go.
The bench I am going to leave red, set some gardening dodads and a potted plant on it and plant a Passion Vine to grow thru the heart holes and around the whole bench.
I think the doll bed is going to be planted with several colors of miniature roses to make a 'bed of roses'
Biita I was thinking about painting some folkart Hollyhocks on that rustic planter and make the planting section a little deeper with some other pieces of similar wood that I have but hadn't decided on what to plant in it....Ivy planted in there sounds nice. And I was thinking maybe a Borage plant with it's grayish stems/leaves and blue flowers would look good in the watering can but it might not be large enough for good growth, but yep it is going out among some tea herbs this spring.
The window I got last May is still sitting in the closet. It and the glass door are on my January project list tho.

Borage,, now that sounds nice, i didn't even think of that. yep the greyness to the plant would go great with the weathered look of the planter. I'm sure it will all look great when your done, i've seen your other arts an they sure are nice.
I plan on going to a place called Leightenbakken on wed or thrus. when it opens back up. Its the closest we have to a thrift store here on the island. Its a store that helps people who have been out of the work force for so long an mentally challenged people to learn to work for themselves to be self seficient. everything is handmade, or reworked,(washers, lamps ect.) plus people bring things in just to get rid of, and thats where the relearning comes in. They fix it all an sell it.

So is everything ready yet? Waiting to see the completed pics. Its an art to see the potential in things that may otherwise look worthless and turn them into real eye-catching pieces. Its something I am trying to develop.

With the holidays, the windy cold days we have been having and the head cold I am just getting over, I haven't had a chance to get anything done to the new junque yet.
But I am looking forward to getting busy with it all now that things are settling down a bit.
I have always driven my family crazy with the 'what can I make out of that' and 'what else can that be used for' way of looking at things. That's why my closet and craft room are both filling up with junque for me to work on.
