I know this post is old, but a trick my grandma taught me is to take a nylon stocking knee high(pantyhose) and stuff it down the hose attachment of your vacuum cleaner leaving the cuff to hold on to, or rubberband it in place then vacuum the ladybugs up, the nylon saves the ladybugs from getting chopped up. Do this everytime you see a ladybug. Release them in another area, put them in the refrigerator until spring or give them to a friend with a green house.

Ladybugs hibernate if you keep them in a fridge, they will sleep til spring keep them at the same temp you keep milk about 33-40 degrees if the milk freezes its to cold, if it spoils, obviously its to hot.

Thanks for the wonderful tip, Stephinalta. Though we do not get to suck up that many ladybugs here, but the pantyhose in vacuum hose is good for other use! Very Happy
