Gardening Is Healing

Category: Garden Novice | Posted: Tue Aug 19, 2008 8:18 pm

I was able to get out over the weekend and get some gardening done. I didn't overdue it and felt so much better just getting out and playing in the dirt. It really lifts my spirits just to see how the flower gardens are doing, weeding them, planting some seeds and feeling proud of my work. It's definitely healing!

Yes, it is. I find it rejuvenating to be outside and tend the plants, especially the fragrant ones and the herbs. I'm glad you were careful.

Planting a few seeds and then watching them grow is so satisfying. I'm glad you were able to get outside. Let us know what you planted, Eileen.

I picked out a very nice
Zephirine Drouhin and my husband planted it on Sunday. I planted California Poppy and Marigold seeds. I need to weed 2 more of my flower gardens but I'm not pushing anything. I'm just happy to get out and do a little work without pain.

Playing in the dirt is definately the best therapy that I know of. I'm glad you're able to get out into the garden again Eileen and that you are taking things easy. Good luck with the poppy and marigolds you've planted.
