back brace

Category: New Garden | Posted: Wed Oct 15, 2008 11:15 pm

Got a back brace today. Looks like a corset. Has steel rods in front and bigger longer rods in the back. My back feels better, but the straps that go around my underarms, and the part under the front of my bra are very uncomfortable. I will work on that.

I'm glad your back feels better now but having the uncomfortable feeling under your arms and at the front of your chest from the brace must be annoying. Is there no way it can be adjusted to give you the support but without the discomfort? Fingers crossed that something can be done so that you can wear the brace without the problems.

Will you have to wear it for a long time? I hope you can figure something out.

I may have to wear it on and off the rest of my life. I have so much arthiritis in my middle and lower back. I found some soft small pads to use around the underarm part. Feels alot better now. It will just feel strange untill I get used to it. I can't believe how much better my lower back feels with the brace on. I have had over 12 hours of very little back pain at all. Its awsome!

So glad you're feeling better. Is there any meds your Dr can give you for the arthritis? I know how that hurts. I'd ask about a TENS unit if I were you. Hope you do well.

I am taking celebrex and have a TENS unit. It helps.
