Last Bubba Update

Category: Pets | Posted: Sun Feb 18, 2007 2:35 pm

Bubba ate a whole can of cat food last night, so he is back to his normal self. He has two days of meds left and his eyes are still a little fa-di-ka, (yucky), but not bad. He insist on going out, so we let him, as he has no congestion. Now the problem will be to get him to eating dry food again as he loves his canned stuff. He is a charming fellow and I am very thankful that he is doing better.

I'm glad he's better too! In Homer Simpson voice "Mmm. food in cans." Then some kitty drool.

So glad to learn that you buddy Bubba is doing so well.
Sounds like he's making the most of his booboo kitty status,
and that's a very good sign :D

He's definately well on the way to a full recovery - thank goodness - he had us worried for a while there. You could try bathing his eyes with a mild solution of saline Sharon which should clear them up nicely. I'm sure you know how to do this but I'll outline it just in case.
Boil a pint of water, add 1 small teaspoonful of salt, stir, then let the water cool. Bathe the eyes from the outer edges into the tear ducts beside the nose. This makes sure that the remaining infection is washed out of, not into the eyes. Cover the remaining solution and use 3-4 times daily or whenever Bubba will allow you to!!

Hope you can get him back on to his dried food again soon and that he remains fighting fit from now on.

Thanks everyone.

Eileen, I have been washing his little eyes, they are just a little bad in the morning when he wakes up. Should clear up soon.

I knew you would be Sharon and Bubba is certainly lucky to have owners like you and Richard. It must be soothing having his eyes bathed when he wakes because that's the time they're always at their worst.

Glad Bubba is doing better. Have fun getting him back to dry food - the canned stuff spoils them in a hurry doesn't it?

Thanks guys, and yes the canned stuff spoils them terribly. He was already spoiled to it and now he has been getting it twice a day, so it will prove to be fun.
