Last year I grew tuber rose for the first time. This year I am planning to try Spider Lily and also Ranunculus. What about you all?
Well some really new ones to me are some lily bulbs I got in trades and planted last fall. Hoping some blooms will reward me. Also got some jack-in-the-pulpit(s) that are supposed to come up this spring for the first time. I have an Amaryllis belladonna that I left in the garden and I am really anxious to see if it made it through the winter. I got some Nerine bowdenii that I grew from seeds, last spring they were OK in the garden, let's see what happens this spring! I am trying each year to add something NEW. I wanna buy some Tigridia bulbs... but these are not hardy so I'll have to dig them out in the fall.
I planted Day Lilies, Amyrallis last fall. Just waiting on blooms to show up. Also overwintered a Caladium. No signs of life from it yet though.
I planted some lilies last autumn and now waiting for them to flower. just planted some lobelia . have never grown them before so fingers crossed they turn out okay
I'm trying 3 bulbs i've never planted before. 1) Hymenocallis festalis " Peruvian Daffodil" 2) Echinops ritro "Echinops Veicht's Blue" & 3) Tuberose Hope I have good luck with them.
I planted Spider Lily, turmeric(indoors) and Ranunculus for the first time this year. Very much looking forward to the Spider lily. I havent seen that blooming in this area at all. So not sure if it will even come up.
I have some new daffodil bulbs I got for postage last fall. They are almost ready to bloom and I can't wait to see what they look like I also got some rescued snow drop bulbs from a house that is being demolished. (All sorts of daylilies, wild hyacthins and fall crocus were being plowed under, but I had no place for them ) I used snow drops to "naturalize" an area under my little fruit trees. I will have to wait until next spring to see them in bloom.
I planted some more globe-master alluims . And new catalog -shocked how they have gone up.But marking where to plant some tulips and spring ones this fall.
