The blade swung into action as the Jewelweed plants were contemplating their next advance. The the advance troops fell first, 30 to 50 at a time. In an open area more than a hundred would perish to the sharp edge of steel. Within 20 minutes it was over. The Poison Ivy observer could only watch as the army was reduced to pockets of survivors hoping the blade would pass them by.

The counterattack freed several prisoners held in the shadows of the growing weeds. Euonymus, Periwinkle and young daylilies could now bask in the new sunshine. It would be a few days as the small groups would be eradicated, few seeds were launched so next years growth should be manageable.

Jerry, All that Jewel weed is an excellent remedy for ....Poison Ivy. Just crush the fat knobby joint closest to the ground (that is where the most liquid is at) and rub the juice all over the poison ivy rash.
