    I felt convinced it is a member of the crow family but could it be a water bird.....Guillemot or Cormorant

    Sorry, not a water bird. May be hard to ID if you are not in North America. It is probably the size of an English thrush or blackbird.

    The Towhee is a beautiful bird. Wouldn't have known that one.
