I finally finished the top of the blue jean quilt, and put the photos on FB. Usually, when I save a FB photo to my computer (phone photos are always too big, so I posted them from my phone to FB, then saved to my computer), it is small enough to share where there are restrictions on the size. Apparently, I will have to try and edit it before I can post the pictures here. I am not any good at photo editing so it may take awhile? The computer photos are still too big for here.

I had some thread get stuck in the shuttle thing around the bobbin case today, and it took 3 hours to be able to loosen a screw that holds the parts in there and fix it. I did pray about it, and I am sure that helped. I did all kinds of stuff, even oiled all the screws and parts down under my machine (the 85 year old machine), but it took awhile for the parts to loosen. I do keep it cleaned and oiled, but maybe needed more cleaned and oiled? Maybe denim makes lots of lint?

I need to make the backing, and the binding and put those all together. I don't think I will have it finished by tomorrow though. I have a bunch of flannel pieces that I plan to use for the backing, and probably the binding too.

THEN I can get back in my garden and at other projects.

I ordered some grow lights and they should come in a day or two, then I can plant some indoor seeds and get them started. And a table for working on.

Sorry the pic is hard to post here. I wud luv to have seen the finished quilt. I have the same problem trying to downsize pics to post here too. I try several times and generally just give up if it seemed to stubborn to download. It’s frustrating especially when it doesn’t ever work no matter what I try. I don’t have this problem with other sites just this one.
I don’t have FB I, hope you can downsize it . I bet it is gorgeous.

I end up taking pictures with my tablet when I post them. I've even taken pictures of my phone pictures to post on here.

I had a tablet once, it was a total piece of junk, and I gave it away.

I have not had a chance to try and edit the photos yet, but will try as soon as I can.

I added pockets to the quilt today, and my friend loves it.

I want to get at cutting up my flannel pieces. I think I have some large pieces of cardboard to use as a pattern for blocks. I save things like that for quilt patterns.

I like mine. I keep thinking maybe I should get a new one, but I really like this one. I've had it for five years, maybe. I also have a first gen. iPad air, which my kids got for me when it first came out, but I like this tablet much better. Of course that's also 5 or 6 years older then this tablet.

This quilt is still under construction. I still have to make the back and the binding and put it together. I had it on my bed to see if it was big enough. Since these pictures, I put 3 pockets on it that I took off of other jeans. My friend loves the pockets and the quilt. One was to patch a flaw in the fabric, and the others went one on each side, and they can put their glasses or a phone in the pockets.

BTW, that error message about the size being "too big" was wrong. I have not edited these pictures, they are well under the limit.

I will post more pictures when the quilt is completed.

The cat is Boots. He was trapped under a nearby empty home the other summer for 7 weeks and nearly starved to death. My neighbor found him, and helped get him back home. I have other cats, but he and Mousie (who got injured back in January in a fight) now live in my room most of the time.

I seem to have the top end on the bottom of my bed, and I put the pockets at that end for my friend.

@Willowisp0801 , I probably would have liked my tablet much better if it was not defective. It only had 16 whatever in the memory, and even though we added another card with 32 whatevers, it would never let me use the card. It knew the card was there, but it was forever telling me I was out of memory, shutting itself down when it should not have and doing all kinds of weird things. My son is super techy, and he could not fix it; their techs could not fix it and they refused to replace it or refund my money. The OS was not properly installed (android), and it was so messed up. I think it would have been okay for kids to play games on, but was not good for much else. The company offered me a flip phone in exchange, and I do not want dinosaurs. They assumed because I am an older adult, that I do not know how to use technology.

That's very nice! It will be perfect to keep the kritters from causing damage, too!

I did cut most of my flannel into large squares, and will see how far they go. I have no idea how big that will get when sewn together. I have a bit more flannel with pinks in them, and won't use those unless necessary. My friend does not like pink, but she said if need be, it is okay to use it. The other pieces of flannel are mostly plaids with a few solid colors also, and those are colors she likes.

I FINALLY finished this quilt this afternoon. It took over 3 1/2 months for this one. Here are a few shots of it. (I need to move saved pictures to folders so I can find things much easier.)

The denim is the top, and the flannel side is the lining. I ended up making my own binding. Walmart had 1 pkg of blue binding which would not do a 90x90 inch blanket, and they were not expecting more until the 16th. A "case" of blanket binding only contains 4 pkgs, and they charge a lot for each one. I went through my stash of fabrics and found a very nice piece in medium blue which my friend loves. It made enough binding for several quilts.
