Too busy for words, so just an occasional lurker here at the Stew. A little trip to Arizona gave me a little breathing space, but also took my breath away with only mind pictures of Saguaro forests, full moon drive, pine forest flats covered in snow. Here is one small snapshot that doesn't match the real thing. Love an occasional change of scenery and Arizona is about as opposite as possible from my small section of the world.
I've seen cacti growing in hot houses and greenhouses. I've seen them for sale in garden centres or growing as house plants but It would be a real treat to see them the way you did - growing in the wild.
Dooley and my folks lived in Arizona and I visited several times. The landscape is sure different than here in Illinois.
Eileen, I too have always been fascinated. Have a window sill variety, but no comparison to a landscape filled only with sage and century old saguaro forests. Wannabe and islandlife lots different from here too. No ferns or moss and lots of bare ground around plant life.
SO different from the landscapes I am used to! I've tried growing cactus, but I always kill them. I think I love them to death. Nice pictures Jewell
