We've seen photos of broken ornaments, cat up the tree, and general cat mayhem with Christmas trees. I thought it was time for a "good" cat and tree story.
We brought our tree home, set it up and watered it, and waited for the cat to notice a tree in the living room. She glanced at it and kept on going. We decorated the tree with all kinds of bright, dangling ornaments, and waited for the cat to notice all those "toys". She strolled through the living room, looked at the tree, and kept walking. She thinks humans are so weird, but she'll put up with us nevertheless.
The only real notice she gives the tree is to drink the water in the tree holder. Both the tree and the cat are well hydrated.

Whos a good kitty? You are lucky to have such a well behaved feline!
When our cat Boots was little, we couldn't keep her out of the tree. It was a nightmare!!
Then we started spraying her with a water pistol when she tried to climb and she stopped. After that she was always content to lay under the tree, hidden between the gifts. She loved laying under the tree, and I seriously think that Christmas was her favorite time of year. I miss her most at Christmas time.

Timi stops by the tree at least once a day to get a drink--

Some folks complain about the tree needles on the floor. We have cat fur!
