I ordered my plants from California last year and then kept some of the seeds and started them myself.

I was so impressed with Mart's tomato until I saw Brad's. Shucks, I would settle for either. I know you must have strong supports for vines with tomatoes that size.

I picked one that was 19oz yesterday. I had to cut it in half to weigh it. My scale stops at 17 oz. I'll post pics soon. I probably should do some type of support on the toms. This one actually broke the small branch it was growing on. The other 4 large ones are supported in the middle of the plants pretty well.

For those tomatoes you need a scale like mine,, or a cotton scale since they are so big !! Hope you took a pic of the 17 oz. one.

I am posting my "giant" tomato here too. 1 pound 7.5 ounce (23.5 oz.) Beefsteak tomato that I raised in my garden this year....Mmmm..It sure made for a great BLT!!!
I have one that is still green that is going to be bigger than this one, I believe.

Here is a pic of the other big tomato that is still on the vine and green. That is my hand in the pic and I am no small fella, 6' tall, 240 lbs and I have large hands...I think this tomato is larger than the one in the pic above.

I am So, So jealous. How do you grow such enormous tomatoes? My biggest ever was as large as my hand would hold. 16 inches around, I think. It was a few years back.

It has something to do with prayer, around 1,500 pounds of compost manure, 800 pounds of top soil, 1,200 pounds of organic humous, and 2,000 pounds of sand in a 25 ft X 25 ft. square red clay garden space... ;)
