I have big beautiful broccoli plants, but they are not flowering at all. What are they missing to flower? I've got them in a raised bed with a native soil (NC, which is pretty heavy clay) and compost mix (2-to-1). Any suggestions? Thanks.

How long have they been in the garden? Broccoli sets a lot of leaves, then gets a tiny head in the center, which grows to an edible size. It takes a lot of leaves to support that much of a "flower" head, which is what the broccoli head is.
When you see the little head forming, a bit of fertilizer then would help. Be patient--if your plants are healthy they will give you broccoli.
You do know that there will be side shoots after you harvest the main head, so don't throw away the plant!
