Dad brings his young chicks to the feeder.
The first time I saw them they just followed Dad around the feeder begging for food instead of getting the seed themselves. Some of the photos are not clear because of low light.

Great pictures Gail, it is always a pleasure to see the younger generation following mom and dad as they go thru the learning process. Even after they can fend for themselves you can sometimes recognize a 'family group' by their actions. Of course you may see a delinquent....one year in early spring I saw an adult blue jay, clearly from the previous years hatchlings, still following mom, she tried to ignore him but the delinquent was persistent. I hope she put him to work feeding the next brood.

Good pictures, Gail! We have a family of three chickadees, with mama and papa getting a little tired of trying to convince junior to feed himself. Today they all settled in at the sunflower seed feeder, then the parents took off! Junior sat there for a while, then began to peck at the seeds. Tough love in action.

I really enjoyed seeing your pictures Gail. I love to watch the birds that visit my garden bringing their babies along with them. Maybe the fledglings will return to your garden next year to breed themselves.

That was such a nice show, Gail. We don't have those house finches here, so it was a special treat for me. The flowers and insects were nice to see as well.
You have interesting things in your yard!
