How can I make a trellis in a large flower pot?

Hello everyone! Would anyone know how I could make a Trellis In a large flower pot? It is about 28 in. across and 23in. deep, Maybe I not the only one that wants something out of the ordinary, I wanted to put Bright red morning glories in it It was one of the pots I got out of junking the other day.So what do you all think? It's so big I thought it might look ok.

Hi Margie! I think red morning glories sound beautiful! Last year, I grew a Black Eyed Susan vine in a big pot. I used three bamboo tall U shaped plant stakes that I bought at Home Depot or some place like that. They were very inexpensive, and are pretty sturdy. You can kind of see them in my photo.
The plant really covered the stakes, and got real big and bushy by the end of the season.

you can make a similar support to the one above with willow or hazel. there really easy to shape and you can do some impressive designs with them :-D

 

Trellis

Thank you both very much I never thought of either one of those, The daisy is beautiful, Maybe I could try that to in another pot .

 

I have a bamboo one too. I also have a miniature trellis made of wood strips. This seems to be the only photo of this planter - check the planter in the middle Margie.

It could be made taller if you needed.

 

I would have recommended bamboo also. I like the look they add and you could get at least a couple of years of out them.

 

Kay, I love that vine! What is scientific name of that plant? Very attractive. It is an annual? Hybrid? Does it reseed itself?

Bodhi, Thanks for liking my Black Eyed Susan vine. Thanks Toni for identifying it, I've been a busy girl, hardly a moment to "Stew" lately!
That did really well last summer, lots of blooms. I had it in full sun in a hot area by the brick wall.

 

Thanks again girls. Lol, Toni already knows I'm half blind from some of my other posts....but I sure can spot a lovely bloom a mile away!

 

I have a willow tree in my garden and I cut the branches of that to make a trellis, the long thing branches are perfect as they are really supple and you can bend them almost any way you want and if I can get them to bend the way I want them to I just soak them in hot water and that seems to do the trick.
