    From experience, one thing I have learned about houseplants is to keep them pot-bound. They seem to put out more flowers that way. If I give them a bigger container, they seem to spend all their time growing roots.
    My plants dry out between watering and I fertilize only once a month.

    That works for the nite blooming cereus, af violets, and snake plant , silver quill.
