Hi all!! I started my garden a bit early this year and we had a light frost Tuesday night, nipping a couple of my tomato plants. :'( It does seem though the heirloom varieties are much tougher and can withstand a light frost. The newer hybrids (grape tomatoes especially) got hit. My cabbage, broccoli, lettuce, collard greens, English peas are thriving in this cooler weather. I will be planting four varieties of corn around the 15th. Beans, peas, okra, squashes have been seeded, but thankfully haven't sprouted yet, maybe in a few days. That will do it for me unless I decide to replace the tommy's that I lost. More heirlooms for sure, but I just love those yummy fresh grape tomatoes!!!
We had a light frost last night but luckily I hadn't put anything out yet. It was amazing how far south the cold air penetrated. Hopefully your plants were just set back a little.
Geez it is forecast to get down to 23 degrees F here tomorrow night. That is a little more than a light frost. If you have to replace the plants I would say just do it and move on. Look at it like an opportunity.
