Not an ordinary fly.

Rather strange one that was in the garden. Thick-headed Fly Physocephala sp.

 

cool. how do you draw them in to get a shot of them?

 

That is an odd looking fly. I would have guessed it as a small wasp, or dirt dauber, by it's shape. Great photo also.

 

This must be the newest space alien fly! I don't believe I have ever seen this one before.

 

Cute,..looks like chocolate or toffee,..at least not a revolting one like most flies up close
