My mum gave me a papaya from her plant this evening. According to her it is a species from Hawaii. It is different from most of the papayas I had eaten before especially the texture of the flesh, it is firm and deliciously sweet.

I thought of planting a plant from the seeds the next day or some other time but I wasn't sure if the seeds could be kept because of the way it is.

Anyone had any experience keeping papaya seeds for more than a month?

Thanks Bunkie, I had saved some after they were air dried. Will try planting them if those that I planted after the meal did not germinate :)

Thanks Jerry, their best result is also air dried in the shade which is what I did. Guess that is the right way to store them 'frog eggs' :D
