Pileated Woodpecker waits.

    The female pileated arrived on the deck. I put a bit of suet mix in a log and moved over to put some in another log, before I could put it in she came over and started eating. They are used to me now and she was only about 3 feet away.

    I've never been able to get that close to any of our woodpeckers!! I can stand in the garden but if I move they're off. :(

    Wow, Kildale that is so very special. Our woodpeckers also do not let you get that close. You are so blessed to have her accept you in that way.
