Ranunculus ficaria aka Celandine. Unless you are in Eastern Europe in which case it could be Ranunculus kochii which is exactly the same as Celandine, but slightly bigger.
It is funny, I was chatting with someone on another site about Celandines. He was asking where to buy the different forms. I have Brazen Hussy, which has purple leaves and yellow flowers and a lovely double cream coloured one. It is kept in a pot a long way from any of the wild ones out in the garden. However, yesterday I found a single flowered white one, growing in the lawn and then a lovely single pale cream one with a blue reverse in the wood. Never planted either of those types here.
They do travel well. I have mine by accident. I'm guessing it was in with the clump of lamium I picked up or it was here already
