I'm so excited! I've just bought a packet of red spring onion seeds.
I've never seen such a thing before!
Now I'm sure plenty of people here will know about these already, but this is a first for me.
I was so excited, I raced home, dug over a small section, and sowed those seeds straight away! Can't wait!!!

Good luck with the onion seeds. I have heard of green spring onions but not red. Don't forget to let us see photos of the seedlings progress and finished product...and how they taste.

Is the foliage red or the bulb is red and the foliage is green as it grows? My first thought was the bulb would be red not the foliage, just wondering, but I have not seen red seed onion, either, only the seed for white ones.

Oh, sorry I should have been more specific.
The bulb is red and the foliage is green.
Johnson was the brand of seeds, which is a company I haven't seen before this year.
I'll be sure to keep a progress report as they grow, nd after harvest.

Does anyone here routinely grow these?

I would love to see pics of what grows Cassandra.
I have never grown big onions before, just spring onions, but I love them, and couldn't resist one different from all the white ones I've had before.
