I have a 10 year old willow. When the snow melted here in Maine there was a white patch on one of the main limbs of the tree. Upon closer inspection we noticed that the bark was loose and when pealed away contained a zillion ants. Little, tiny ants that were eating away at the meat of the tree under the bark. We peeled away the bark, cut all deal branches and applied a home made remedy of Murphy's Oil Soap and water to the tree. Does anyone know what else I should do?
