After having knitted sweaters and hats, I had some wool left and thought I'd knit pulse warmers. Well, we call them that in Norwegian, and I haven't found the English word for them. Here they are: I thought using darker wool in front would help keeping them looking fine a bit longer. The pattern is the same as on the hats. I'm rather pleased with the result. So is Snuske, our cat. She went up on the table, stole them and started tossing them, chasing them and enjoying herself immensely. So they're quality checked as well.
I've seen them called fingerless gloves,& wrist warmers. Those are really pretty. And Snuske approved!
I have never seen them or heard of them but they are something I bet Heather would love to wear in the cold Montana Weather. They are so pretty.I can't bame the cat for likeing them. Thanks for teaching me about new things.
Hey those are just what I could do with in the garden!!! They would save my arms from getting scratched while keeping me warm. Well maybe not ones as pretty as yours Droopy but probably thick, waterproof ones. Did you have a pattern or did you knit them all by yourself? I think the whole ensemble will look stunning when worn together. Nice to know that you have such a discerning cat!!
Wrist warmers-wrist warmers-wrist warmers. Thank you, all. I had a pattern, but had to modify it a bit because it was for grown-ups. Those little hands are Sylvi's. I'm wondering if the alpaca yarn smells extra good to cats. They never let me alone when I knit. They want to lie on it, suck on it and play with it. One morning I heard frantic plastic bag rustling, and when I got to the living room, Snuske had picked all the wool out of the bag and had made quite a mess of everything too.
Thanks both. Toni, they are so easy to make, go try it. I just knitted a little in-between, but I guess you can make a pair in an evening. Bethie, you're too sweet.
What a good idea, Droopy. Those look great and they will indeed match the sweaters and hats that you have already knitten. Those wrist warmers warm more than just wrists...they warm the forearms as well. You guys have some interesting things up there. What a talent you have. I'm always amazed at how good you are with handicrafts.
I've never seen anything quite like that. I've seen the gloves with no fingers on them which makes it easier to do certain tasks, and most have a mitten-type flap that will cover your fingers when you're not working. Your's is a great idea.
Thank you both. You're too kind. I think those are good for chilly but not freezing weather. I've seen the ones with flaps, kaseylib, they're good too, but more work to knit.
Beautiful! Hmm, I've never tried making gloves since the finger-bits seem so tedious. I may just have to try making up a set of those for gardening. *Burying the idea in my burgeoning to-do pile*
Wow those look great! I bet they feel comfy too I've only just learned how to crochet and am currently working on a granny square - in my opinion though it looks a bit off, Oh well you never get any better if you don't keep trying right? The wrist warmers look great
Everytime I look or think of my to-do-tower I start humming "To Dream the Impossible Dream" from Man of LaMancha.
