Recently I saw a purple violet in bloom. Should violets flower in the month of September?

Hi @Petronius they're mainly a spring flower but I suppose it's according to the species of the plant as there is 500-600 of them :)

Agree, one would need to know the species & where in the world it was blooming to gauge if it was in any way unusual.

The violet was blooming near the foundation of the building.

The kind of location info that can aid in seeking ID is to know the city & country, &/or garden zone. Preferably both. And whether or not a plant was purchased/cultivated, or if it volunteered. Micro-location info like proximity to structures and sun exposure can also be helpful if the macro-location is known.
