Watching the small birds through the window...

    We put up a small window feeder and put a garbage can below it to catch any food or droppings from the birds... February 13, 2016 135 (2).jpg

    This morning it was -28 with the windchill and the small birds were taking turns flying from the tree to the feeder.

    Most of the small birds are house finches (the red ones are male) and their mates.

    Hi Sherry, is the window feeder like a one-way mirror i.e. you can see them, they can't see you? That would be really neat. Thanks for the photos.

    Yes Frank...I had won this feeder years ago from a Duncraft bird picture contest. The birds cannot see the cat's paw on the back of it or the dog sitting closely looking at them . Luckily or we wouldn't have one bird...I do enjoy seeing them, even if it isn't the clearest picture through it.

    I can see why your photograph won Sherry. Now you can see your birds up close even in bad weather and they're not disturbed while feeding in any way.
