I have two winter heath/erica carnea plants. They just came out of winter and are not looking so hot! Any suggestions? Thanks! ( photo / image / picture from Igyma's Garden ) the other one has nothing on it, just like the bare side in this picture.
Looks like it has lots of life. Just cut out the dead. After it blooms you can cut back the flowering stems some so that it bushes out. Just be careful when trimming back that you clip a good 2 inches above the little needles. Don't clip below the needles or that stem will die. I got rambunctious trimming mine back last summer and have some bald spots now. Wait and see if there is any green at the base of the other. If not showing new green when the other starts putting on new growth it is time to pull and replant. Might try a summer blooming variety for year round color. The bees love mine year round.
