rain is wonderful
Category: Hawks | Posted: Tue May 22, 2012 2:25 am We got about 2 1/4 inches over 3 days last weekend and the tomatoes just sprung up. Grew about 6 inches, seemed like over night. Of course, the grass in the bed grew also. I have put out Over the top, pulled until my back hurt, and still the grass is there. ![]() start of bed ( photo / image / picture from snow1's Garden ) This blog entry has been viewed 212 times

Dozens of Hawks last summer
Category: Hawks | Posted: Wed Apr 11, 2012 10:40 pm Last summer, my husband and I noted dozens of hawks riding the terminals over our house, in the middle of town. We take our binoculars out when we are in the yard to watch them. They vary in size, but always, usually, in groups of 20-30. We could not believe it the first time we saw them. Just last week end, we saw about 15-20 in a trail, looked like heading home for the evening. They are so pretty. Last year it was amazing to see one tuck in his wings, and dive into a tree to catch some poor, trying to hide, bird or squirrel. This blog entry has been viewed 249 times
